He knows and He Cares

But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you or by any human court. In fact, I do not even judge myself. For I am not aware of anything against myself, but I am not thereby acquitted. It is the Lord who judges me.

~ 1 Corinthians 4:3-4, ESV ~

In our human experience, we desire admiration of family, co-workers, neighbors, and friends. We become consumed in our desire to meet their needs before we meet our own needs. This is true with the recovery process. An individual wants to prove to those around them that they are worthy of admiration and praise. In our haste and eagerness to please them, we tend to overshadow our eagerness to walk with God.

Recovery is a spiritual journey and process of transformation. As we seek to fulfill the purposes that God has in store for us, we allow ourselves to become a worker and doer of His word. This happens when we have surrendered our life and will over to God. For our lives to be transformed, we come to recognize that we need someone more powerful than our own desires and will. Without God, we are incapable of transforming our own lives. We commit ourselves over to His care. Through our surrender and obedience to a caring and loving sovereign Eternal Father, we begin to experience a promised life that is full of joy and abundance.

The simple truth of this spiritual journey is not to merely listen to God’s word, it is to align ourselves to live out His word in order for us to be blessed by and through Him.
