~July 13, 2020 Evening Devotion ~
And so he that had received the five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents:
behold, I gained beside them five talents more. His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou has been
faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of the Lord.
~ Matthew 25:20-21, KJV ~
Walking in obedience is paying attention to the smaller details. This is how we grow and prosper in all things. When we are faithful to walk according to His will, He will bless us and increase our faith, increase our grace, and increase our ability to bless others. He gives us a little bit at a time. As we serve Him, our responsibilities increase – so also will our duty to better serve Him. This is not just financial gain and blessings. It is spiritual gain and growth. It is increase in our discipline to follow him. Setbacks lead to greater victories. Declining our prayerful requests so that he may bless us with greater reward on a different request we may not have considered.
Seek God first and then all things may be added with good measure until our cup overfloweth with abundance and blessings. Those who seek to only gain financial security and fail to recognize setbacks, mindfully listen to hear the voice of God, and focus on their love for money, status, and affluence will fall miserably with their pride into the depths of humility.
Let us be faith in seeking God in great matters where we exercise our faith and be mindful and diligent in obeying the smaller matters He has called us to obey.
~ Today’s Prayer and Meditation ~
Heavenly Father, bless me as I walk in your way and truth. Let me be a continued light and blessing to others. As I seek you with my greatest desires, let me be mindful in obeying you in the smaller details of life. In Jesus Name, Amen.
